The Longhouse Joins the Tesla Motors Destination Charging Network.

The Longhouse recently installed two electric vehicle charging stations in partnership with the Telsa Motors Destination Charging program.  Designed to provide travellers with Tesla electric vehicle charging options, the Destination Charging program supplies hotels, restaurants, and resorts with High Power Wall Connectors that offer more than twice the power of a typical charging station.

Located in the parking spaces for units 1 and 2 the Destination Chargers have the larger 7m cable to accommodate easy parking, unloading and charging.

Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly important for the future environmental sustainability. The Longhouse was built using a significant portion of recycled materials, it generates its own power, hot water and collects its own water.

We continually strive to provide the best experiences at minimal impact to the environment for our guests so it was a logical decision to work with Tesla to offer electric vehicle charging as an added benefit.

Tesla plans to continue expanding their Destination Charging program by working with additional restaurants, hotels, resorts, and beach parking locations throughout Australia. Currently, The Longhouse is one of only four locations in the Pokolbin area that is a part of the Tesla Destination Charging network.

The value of charging at hotels cannot be underrated. Superchargers are not everywhere, and other slower chargers are not always very close to accomodation options. Often the best solution is to charge while you sleep.

It’s just another step towards the highest standards of environmental sustainability here at The Longhouse.
